It is amazing to watch an aerial performance on-stage. It is even more remarkable to see it from only a few feet away and almost on the same level. Hilary wanted some staged shots of various held poses she does while performing. I wanted to have studio lighting and a different backdrop for the shoot. A stage is typical and I needed something with a raw feel. We went to Dobbs Ferry, NY and spent the day. This is just one of the many great shots.
Nikon D3, 70-200, ISO 100, 2 Speedotron heads camera left, firing into Chimera soft boxes with 40% grids on the front. One head with a double cut CTB into the back wall and a SB-900 zoomed to 200 and with a Honal grid pointed right at her head via my assistant Randi Alegre. Some post processing in Nikon NX2 and it's beautiful.
