EXPERT PHOTO RETOUCHING

Aren't some terms interesting? Take for instance horsepower. An engine’s capability is measured in horsepower. For a long time, lighting was measured in candlepower.

A well-known term in photo retouching is "airbrushing." In the not too distant past of photography, artists actually painted on pictures with an airbrush to improve them. This technique was most commonly employed with formal portraiture. However, it was counted on by Hollywood to transform otherwise normal people into the revenue-generating icons that are now part of our collective memory.

As you page through any wedding magazine - or any magazine for that matter - you can bet that 99.9% of the images have been worked over. Some of the editing will be so subtle that it's hard to see. Others may look as if the scene could only occur in a dream.

Kent Miller Studios can provide whatever level of retouching you desire.

We've been actively delivering finished images to commercial clients for years. In fact, some of our work is the retouching itself. We learned photo manipulation and enhancement before computers were widely used. From the print techniques of dodging and burning to hand-coloring and masking to actual airbrushing with real paint, we've pretty much done it all.

Retouching isn't a substitute for well-exposed photos and artful composition. Great photography is our priority, but retouching can transform incredible images into those that even strangers will find compelling. When considering your wedding photography needs, we can't recommend enough that you think of it in terms of documenting what can't be recreated. Prioritize capturing as many wonderful photos of the event as possible by allocating your budget for multiple photographers and services, such as our MemoryShareSM program that brings together all the photos of your day.

You can't go back in time to capture a beautiful moment that has past.
You can go back in time to bring out the best of the best of your images.
